New Beginnings: ADECOWA Announces Leadership Transition as Jerome Bello Departs and Rotimi Babatunde Takes Over.
The Board of ADECO Project Engineering BV West Africa Limited has announced that its Managing Director, Jerome Bello, had stepped down after seventeen successful years at the helm of one of Nigeria’s leading industrial engineering companies. ADECO specializes in project design, installation, Solar, and maintenance of industrial equipment.
Since 2007, under Engr. Jerome Femi Bello’s leadership, ADECO has experienced remarkable growth, developing engineering solutions across various sectors in West Africa sub-region, including brewing, food and beverage, cement, and pharmaceuticals. Bello implemented significant organizational changes that streamlined operations, improved revenue, and brought the company to profitability. He also forged key partnerships with leading original equipment manufacturers globally, fulfilling the company’s mission to provide specialized industrial technical expertise in the maintenance and support of automated electrical and mechanical, inspection, and coding equipment in the rapidly growing food and beverage industry. Notable OEM partners include Heuft, Regalrexnord, Domino, Verder Group, Meyn, Choretime, Van Uitert, KTR, and CHP.
Engr. Bello is a distinguished Electrical and Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in brewery project management and equipment maintenance. His career began at Nigerian Breweries Plc in 1972 as an Electrical Engineer. He rose through the ranks to become Chief Engineer at Lagos Brewery in 1989 and later served as Brewery Manager at Ibadan Brewery. In 1996, he was transferred to Heineken Technical Services in the Netherlands as Senior Consultant for maintenance benchmarking, where he developed Heineken’s global maintenance policy. In 2001, he transitioned to Human Resource Director for Nigerian Breweries. After retiring from Nigerian Breweries in 2004, he was seconded to Consolidated Breweries as General Manager Technical until his retirement in 2007. That same year, Bello founded ADECO Project Engineering BV West Africa Limited, where he remains a founding partner and now serves as Board Chairman.
Mr Rotimi Babatunde, who has a proven track record in driving business growth, operational efficiency, and strategic innovation as the Executive Director Operation, has assumed the role of Managing Director effective September 1, 2024. With a strong foundation in engineering management, strategic planning, data analysis, and leadership, Rotimi excels at developing and implementing comprehensive business strategies.
Mr Babatunde began his career at ADECO in 2008 as an Electrical Supervisor. By 2011, he had advanced to Head of OEM Service. In 2017, he was promoted to Commercial Manager, followed by a promotion to General Manager of Operations in 2021. In 2022, he assumed the role of Executive Director of Operations.
He is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the British Standards Institution (BSI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS), the Guild of Project Managers Portfolio, World Commerce & Contracting, and World Renewable Energy Management Planning PME.
Jerome Bello has been appointed Board Chairman with immediate effect.
